Not going far, yet not close enough,
In our thoughts, our memories she stays,
Don’t go! our heart silently says,
But with a smile we bid her adieu,
Someday we knew we’ll have to,
All we have are a few moments,
Thousands more we wished to sow,
We wish her an unfading smile,
We’ll miss her friendship, pure, without guile.
Words can’t express, nor fill,
The emptiness we all feel,
But to new beginnings we rise a toast,
Cos we know the friendship is not lost.
So here’s to a place all new,
To fonder meetings though far and few,
Louder laughter, bigger smiles,
Higher joy, greater mirth.
